On Thursday, May 1 at 6 PM at WEP Central (#3 Bartlett), come see the pop-up show of the ephemeral and the universal, the near-misses and complete successes, four walls full of the evidence of footprints in snow, the feathered tail, the absence and presence of houses of animals of furry hills that we love – the fluorescent fighter jet and the fir bough, the aluminum facet of crystal and the glimmer of eroded geology. Frank mundane realism meets encaustic wax, the daub of a pet in pink and the careful horizon in a quick green line of watercolour, the flexed paw of one painting might appear in another – this is what happens when you mix two Andrews with one part Michael with a little bit of Stirling. We are pre-occupied and distracted and yet mindful and focused on paintings that show the current flux in the world and the near-departure of what matters to us.
