Our poets for this month: Ben Meyerson and Conor Mc Donnell!

Ben Meyerson is the author of a full-length poetry collection entitled Seguiriyas (Black Ocean, 2023) and five prior chapbooks: Near Enough (Seven Kitchens Press, 2023), After Boabdil (The Alfred Gustav Press, 2023), An Ecology of the Void (Above/Ground Press, 2019), Holcocene (Kelsay Books, 2018) and In A Past Life (The Alfred Gustav Press, 2016). He holds an MFA in creative writing from the University of Minnesota and an MA in philosophy from the Universidad de Sevilla, and he is currently a PhD candidate at University of Toronto’s Centre for Comparative Literature. His poems, essays and translations have been published in a variety of journals in both English and Spanish.

Conor Mc Donnell is an Irish physician and poet living and working in Toronto for over 20 years. Since 2016, he has published three chapbooks with Anstruther Press, Frog Hollow Press, and above/groundpress. His first poetry collection, Recovery Community, was published by Mansfield Press in 2021 and his follow-up collection, This Insistent List, is forthcoming from the same publisher in 2024. He is widely published, and as Associate Professor at The University of Toronto, he contributes to the Narrative Based Medicine Creative Writing Lab where he is imminently launching the literary scientific magazine, Apotheca.

We are blessed to be able to host poets of such immense talent at our lovely space at 3 Bartlett, we hope you’ll join us! 

Doors open at 7, starts at 7:30 PM, tickets are Pay What You Can at the door, no one turned away for lack of funds! All funds raised will be split between the poets and the house.
